To begin editing your server Message of the Day (MOTD) you must first follow these procedures:
1. Login to our Multicraft Control Panel (cp.spartanhost.net)
2. Click on "Files > Config Files" on the left bar.
3. Click on the "Server Settings" button to modify your main server settings.
4. Scroll down until you find "Message of the Day".
If you have not modified this earlier, it will appear as "A Minecraft Server" which is the default MOTD.
To modify it, simply enter the text that you want, and remember to click "Save" at the bottom of the server settings.
Adding colour to your Message of the Day:
Simple (all server types) :
In the "Message of the Day" entry there is a certain format to use which will allow you to specify which colours to output as the MOTD. The exact format is "\u00A7", to utilise this correctly there must be a colour code after. To add other formatting codes such as bold, or italics simply follow the same process.
Example:
Text: "\u00A7cSpartan \u00A7bHost"
To take effect, please save, then restart your server. After starting up, it should output:
